Overview

When plans began for the Game of Thrones Studio Tour, the ambition was to create an experience worthy of one of television’s most successful productions. Over two years years, AMcBroom Media worked alongside Yellow Design, Linen Mill Studios, HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery, producing photography, promotional films, interactive content and digital assets that helped shape and promote the attraction from construction through to launch and beyond.

The Brief

The challenge extended far beyond producing promotional material. The Studio Tour needed to capture the craftsmanship behind Game of Thrones while creating engaging content for marketing, social media and the visitor experience itself. Every element had to respect the original production while introducing audiences to a new attraction built around one of the world’s most recognisable television series.

Our Approach

Working across multiple disciplines, we documented the development of the attraction while creating visual assets for both marketing and immersive visitor experiences.

The project included promotional photography, teaser films, 3D scanning, photogrammetry and the creation of high-resolution digital models of original costumes, props and production assets. These models became part of interactive exhibits, allowing visitors to experience the craftsmanship behind the series in entirely new ways.

The Outcome

Today, visitors from around the world experience content created throughout the development of the Studio Tour, both before they arrive and as part of the attraction itself.

From promotional campaigns to interactive installations, the work continues to support one of Northern Ireland’s most internationally recognised visitor experiences.

What This Project Demonstrates

Successful destination marketing goes beyond showcasing a location. By combining cinematic storytelling with carefully crafted visuals, it’s possible to create anticipation, inspire curiosity and encourage people to experience a place for themselves.

Key Takeaway

The strongest visitor attraction campaigns sell the experience, not just the location.
