Field Notes

Not every story begins with a brief. Some begin with a chance conversation. Others with a place, a person or a quiet moment that refuses to go away. Without deadlines, commercial objectives or the pressure to deliver, these projects are free to unfold at their own pace.

Field Notes is an ongoing collection of documentary essays, photography and observations gathered across Northern Ireland. Some were photographed over weeks. Others took months to reveal themselves. A few began years ago and continue to evolve.

They’re not portfolio pieces. They’re an opportunity to slow down, look more carefully and tell stories that matter simply because they’re worth telling. Every one of them has shaped the way I approach my commercial work. Because the best stories aren’t always the loudest. They’re often the ones that reveal themselves only after you’ve spent the time to really understand them.
