Overview
Native is a series of four short films created for The Yellow Door Deli, each exploring the people and places behind locally sourced ingredients. From dairy and eggs to potatoes and the deli’s own kitchen garden, every story begins with the producer before following the ingredients into Simon Dougan’s kitchen, where they’re transformed into seasonal dishes.
The Brief
The Yellow Door Deli wanted to celebrate more than its menu. The aim was to showcase the relationships with local producers, demonstrate a commitment to provenance and quality and tell the stories behind the ingredients that define the business.
Our Approach
Rather than beginning in the kitchen, each film starts at the source. By spending time with local farmers and producers, we captured the care, expertise and dedication that goes into every ingredient. The story then moves naturally into Simon Dougan’s kitchen, connecting producer and chef through a shared passion for quality food.
The Outcome
The Native series gave The Yellow Door Deli a collection of films that communicated the values behind the brand as much as the food itself. By celebrating local producers alongside the finished dishes, the series reinforced authenticity, provenance and the importance of supporting local suppliers.
