Overview

Commissioned by Mid & East Antrim Borough Council, Shaped by Sea and Stone was a three-month campaign celebrating the landscapes, coastline and heritage of one of Northern Ireland’s most spectacular destinations. Combining both photography and video, the project documented the towns and character of the Antrim Coast Road, creating a library of visual content that reflected the area’s unique identity and appeal.

The Brief

The campaign aimed to showcase the natural beauty and distinctive character of the Causeway Coastal Route while encouraging visitors to explore the region. Rather than producing a traditional tourism advert, the objective was to create authentic visual content that conveyed a genuine sense of place.

Our Approach

Over a three-month period, filming and photography took place across the Antrim Coast Road, working with changing light, weather and seasons to capture the landscape at its best. The campaign was filmed entirely using a DJI Mavic 4 Pro, taking advantage of its multiple focal lengths to create a more cinematic perspective while working safely and unobtrusively along the coastline. The result was a consistent library of photography and film that reflected the scale, atmosphere and character of the region.

The Outcome

The completed campaign provided Mid & East Antrim Borough Council with a comprehensive library of photography and video celebrating one of Northern Ireland’s most iconic coastal routes. The work continues to support destination marketing by presenting the coastline through authentic, high-quality visual storytelling.

What This Project Demonstrates

Creating a sense of place takes time. By returning to a location over several months, it’s possible to build a richer, more authentic story than a single-day production could ever achieve.

Key Takeaway

The most compelling destination campaigns capture the character of a place, not just its landmarks.
