Overview

Belfast Is Ready was a tourism campaign created to present Belfast as a vibrant, welcoming city through the people who give it its character.

Rather than relying solely on familiar landmarks, the film moves through the city meeting people working, creating, performing and contributing to everyday life in Belfast. Together, these moments build a picture of the city through its atmosphere, personality and people.

The Brief

The campaign needed to encourage people to see Belfast as a destination worth visiting, while communicating more than simply a list of attractions. The aim was to capture the energy of the city and the sense of welcome visitors experience when they arrive, bringing together recognisable Belfast locations with the people, culture and activity happening around them.

Our Approach

We built the film around a series of short, human moments, featuring different people doing the things that help make Belfast distinctive. The camera moves between locations, experiences and individuals, allowing the city to reveal itself naturally rather than presenting it as a conventional sequence of tourism landmarks.

Music was also integral to the idea. The soundtrack was created by a local musician who appears in the film busking in Belfast, connecting the music directly to the city and making it part of the story rather than simply an accompaniment.

The Outcome

The finished campaign presents Belfast as a city experienced through its people as much as its places.

By combining local personalities, music, activity and recognisable locations, Belfast Is Ready creates a warmer and more immediate picture of the city, communicating its energy, character and sense of welcome to potential visitors.

What This Project Demonstrates

People-led tourism storytelling that combines local character, music and recognisable locations to communicate the personality of a city.

The strength of the campaign comes from showing Belfast through the people who make it feel active, creative and welcoming, rather than relying on landmarks alone.

Key Takeaway

A destination becomes more memorable when audiences can connect with the people behind it. By combining real activity, local music and everyday moments, Belfast Is Ready presents the city as somewhere to experience, not simply somewhere to visit.
