Overview

Taste the Island was a Tourism Northern Ireland campaign celebrating the food, producers and places that make Northern Ireland a distinctive culinary destination. We produced two short films for the campaign, created for use as television commercials.

The Brief

With only a short running time, the films needed to quickly capture the variety and character of Northern Ireland’s food offering while encouraging audiences to experience it for themselves.

Our Approach

We filmed food, producers, chefs, hospitality businesses and locations across Northern Ireland, combining close observational detail with wider imagery that established a strong sense of place.

Rather than treating food and destination as separate subjects, the photography and filmmaking connected the two. Ingredients, preparation and finished dishes were shown alongside the landscapes, people and environments behind them.

The result was a series of visually rich sequences designed to work within the pace and clarity required for television advertising.

The Outcome

The finished television campaign brought together Northern Ireland’s food culture and visitor experience within a concise, visually driven format.

By connecting local produce with the people who create it and the places where visitors can experience it, Taste the Island presented food as an integral part of the destination rather than a standalone attraction.

What This Project Demonstrates

Creating broadcast tourism content that brings together food, hospitality, people and place within a clear campaign message.

It demonstrates how strong visual storytelling can connect individual experiences to a much broader destination proposition.

Key Takeaway

Successful tourism films sell more than a destination. They connect atmosphere, experience and local character in a way that gives audiences a reason to visit.
