Overview
Led by Ulster Wildlife and involving partners across Ireland, PEAT+ is focused on the protection and restoration of peatland habitats. AMcBroom Media produced a film taking a broad look at peatlands, why they matter and the work being undertaken through the project.
The Brief
The challenge was to communicate a large and complex environmental subject in an accessible way. The film needed to introduce peatlands, explain their importance and bring together the people, places and expertise involved in the PEAT+ project.
Our Approach
The film was structured around the wider story of peatlands rather than simply documenting the project itself. Interviews and specialist knowledge were combined with footage of the landscapes and restoration work to give audiences both an understanding of the subject and a sense of the environments being protected.
The Outcome
The completed film provides Ulster Wildlife and its project partners with an accessible introduction to PEAT+, helping explain the importance of peatlands, the challenges they face and the work being carried out to restore them.
